Course details (24 hours of classroom lectures + individual work on My Europa platform):

Day 1

  • Introduction to the European direct funding system and what is a European Project?
  • How to find & read a call for proposal
  • How to build a consortium: how to find partners, role of project coordinator & role of partners, third parties, subcontracting parties
  • How to draft a project proposal: description of the project activities
  • Implementation of work plan & project objectives, work package break down
  • Project management : internal managing bodies
  • Evaluation procedure of project proposals (eligibility criteria; criteria of evaluation for proposals; the evaluation process, the scientific relevance, consortium management, impact..)
  • Negotiation and granting system of European projects.
  • Legal aspects of EU funded project: contract with the EU Commission and obligations between partners ( Grant Agreement, Consortium Agreement)

Day 2 

  • Financial issue and budget follow up , transfer of Eu funds role of the coordinator
  • How to draft a project budget
  • Dissemination of Information& Communication activities
  • Project Reporting: the Financial and Administrative report, the activity report

Day 3

  • Call for proposal search and analysis of main objectives(publication date, deadline, working documents, how to identify a pertinent call for proposal, how to read a Work Programme)
  • How to identify a pertinent call for proposal?
  • Practical exercise 1: how to build a consortium - stakeholders identification and partnership building ( including drafting of pre contractual agreements)
  • Practical exercise 2: Break down of project activities (description of work plan & project objectives, work package break down, task and sub task implementation)
  • Practical exercise 3: Structuring a management plan for a European project

Day 4

  • Practical exercise 4: How to draft a project budget and exercise on personnel cost identification and break down
  • Practical exercise 5: Exercise on other cost voice identification and break down
  • Practical exercise 6: How to build a dissemination and communication plan
  • Evaluation of the work performed, question and answers session
  • Learning outcomes: a draft project proposal to be realised

European Academy for education and social research also offers In-house courses in order to meet the specific needs of the host organisations.

A good example of what we can offer is the European Projects English course realised in Paris (France) for 30 students of the Master EERI projets européens of University Cergy-Pontoise.

  • Formulation of Proposal ideas based on the Pre-arrival Task posted in My Europa platform (www.my-europa.eu)
  • Work in groups or individually on creating a Project Proposal Outline
  • Project Proposal Outline practical session with the support of the trainer
  • Presentation and discussion on the worked Project Proposal Outline
